Ask the Expert is a member-led educational series from the Excelsior-Lake Minnetonka Chamber of Commerce. Each session allows a Chamber member to share useful expertise in an approachable, practical format. This month, our host is Joe Janiszewski of Small Business Joe. Joe is an expert at applying AI for small businesses in order to augment or automate business workflows to cut costs and/or boost revenue! Lunch will be provided for attendees.

Join us for a plain-English, 60-minute session on where AI actually fits into a small business! A couple of weeks before the session, the Chamber will send attendees a short survey to learn more about how they’re currently using AI, the challenges they’re experiencing, and what parts of their week they’d hand over to AI if they could. The session content will then be built around those responses to make it as relevant and practical as possible for the businesses attending. The first 30 minutes will focus on the most relevant topics and takeaways from the survey, followed by 30 minutes of open Q&A. The goal is simple: if everyone leaves with one practical thing to try that week, it’s been a good hour.

Key takeaways: Identify where AI can actually help! Figure out which parts of your week are worth handing over to AI, and which ones are better left alone. Understand your options! Learn the difference between chatting with an AI tool and setting up an AI agent that can work independently, including a general idea of what each costs to get started. Leave with a practical first step! Identify one real task in your business that AI could take off your plate and understand what it would take to get it set up.
