About
Fanfare for The Commons is an IRS approved 501c3 non-profit organization founded in July 2024 for the sole purpose of hosting and presenting the magnificent Minnesota Orchestra in concert once every July from 2025-2029. The concerts will be held in Excelsior Commons’ Pavilion, in collaboration with the Minnesota Orchestra’s Symphony for the Cities program of free* outdoor concerts.
Beyond presenting the Orchestra’s rich repertoire of classical favorites, popular Sousa marches and a variety of film scores, our mission is to introduce to our community, and particularly to our young people, the
magical and immersive experience of seeing and hearing a live performance by 70+ classically trained musicians. We believe that music is an essential element to healthy living. Better stated by the late music producer Quincy Jones: “you cannot live without water or music.”
"An Evening with the Minnesota Orchestra" will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 from 6-9:30 PM.
* Fanfare for The Commons hires the Minnesota Orchestra to perform and assumes all fundraising responsibilities related to producing these events.
