Parent-Student Photoshoot

Friday, December 6, 2024 (5:30 PM - 7:30 PM) (CST)

Description

Learn how to take photos that tell a story, show emotion, or create a reminder of an important event. Explore photography in nature, moving objects, urban environments and people. Digital camera required. We are offering two separate Parent/Student classes this fall! 1. Fall Colors: Join professional photographer Don Tredinnick at Wood Lake Nature Center in Richfield for a fun afternoon photographing the fall colors along the trails. Don will discuss various aspects of fall photography as we walk the trails and stop at a number of pre-determined photography locations. We will begin in front of the visitor’s center with a quick discussion of camera settings prior to heading down the trails. At each stop, there will be suggestions for how to capture interesting images. Everyone will get time to experiment at each stop. Both parents and students are encouraged to take photos. 2. Holiday Lights: There is nothing more fun than strolling past holiday decorations. Join professional photographer Don Tredinnick as we photograph some of the holiday light displays in the western suburbs. Don will spend time with each participant to help them capture some great holiday photos. We will begin inside a local coffee shop prior to heading out to photograph the light. Don will discuss different techniques and show some examples. We will then get cameras preset and then bundle up to head out for the lights. Both parents and students are encouraged to take photos. Equipment needed: 1. Any digital camera that allows for manual setting of aperture, iso, and shutter speed. 2. Tripod 3. Comfortable footwear since we will be walking around and standing during the shooting portion of the program.
